Ankara - The Turkish Prime Minister, Mr Bulent Ecevit, said yesterday that parliamentary reading of his new government programme would take place at the end of this week, effectively delaying a vote of confidence to next week.

Parliament had been expected to hear the programme yesterday. Mr Ecevit last week agreed on a three-way coalition with the far-right Nationalist Action Party and a conservative party after last month's general elections.
