Veteran broadcaster Mr Eamonn Dunphy has been remanded on continuing bail until April 8th, 2002, after appearing in court this morning on drink-driving charges.

The Today FM presenter was charged with drink-driving relating to an incident on October 28th at 5.35 a.m. when Mr Dunphy was stopped by gardaí on Camden Street, Dublin.

The court heard that when Mr Dunphy was stopped he told Garda Paul Kane: "It's not true".

The case has been adjourned because of pending High Court hearings over the new digital breathalising methods introduced by the Garda.

Mr Dunphy will appear before Mr Justice James Scally on April 8th next year.
