Dunnes Stores is expected to make a statement today on the dispute at its Terryland branch in Galway, where more than 170 staff are suspended. Mandate union officials had expected discussions over the Easter Bank Holiday.
There are concerns that the dispute could escalate to full-scale official action, possibly affecting other branches.
