A Dublin man accused of robbing a bank in Monaghan town in August 1996 was sent for trial at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin when he appeared at Monaghan District Court yesterday.

Mr Noel Keogh, of Corduff Green, Blanchardstown, is charged with stealing £3,686 in cash from the Trustee Savings Bank at The Hill, Monaghan on August 21st, 1996 and having a firearm with intent to commit an offence.

Judge Donal McArdle ordered Mr Keogh to be sent for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court on January 13th, remanding him in custody with consent to £15,000 bail.
