Rush-hour train services in Dublin suffered delays earlier this evening due to a city centre track fault.

According to an Irish Rail spokesman, a point fault affected the line between Pearse Station and Connolly. He said that delays of up to 40 minutes were experienced by passengers.

Dart and commuter services were also hit by the fault, which has now been fixed.

Elsewhere, a broken-down truck at Junction 1 on the M50 caused traffic congestion, north bound, back to the Toll Plaza.
