Dublin man convicted over pipe bomb

A Dublin man has been convicted by the Special Criminal Court of possessing a pipe bomb in Co Waterford last year.

A Dublin man has been convicted by the Special Criminal Court of possessing a pipe bomb in Co Waterford last year.

Samuel Devlin (51), Mountjoy Square, had pleaded not guilty to possession of an improvised explosive device at the Top garage, Butlerstown Roundabout, Cork Road, Waterford on October 15th last year. The court heard during his trial last month Devlin and another man were placed under watch as part of a Garda inquiry into an unlawful organisation. Devlin was remanded in custody for sentencing on July 21st next.
