A police chief today said detectives were analysing "lots of new information" about the last movements of five murdered Ipswich prostitutes.

Suffolk's assistant chief constable Jacqui Cheer said police had questioned drivers in the red light district of Ipswich during the early hours and were sifting for any new leads.

She said: "We have lots of new information that has come in overnight. That will now be analysed."

She said detectives had also received more than 20 calls after making a fresh appeal for information about the last movements of one of the murdered prostitutes, Anneli Alderton.
