Coláiste Mhuire, Loch an Iúir, Co Donegal, reopened on Saturday following a week-long closure and operations were just getting back to normal.

Entry was gained through the rear of the main building before the robbery took place in the main office and other adjoining rooms.

A total of 290 students are attending the course that ends this Saturday. They were all sent home last week when 11 students tested positive for swine flu and a further 140 showed symptoms.

One local said last night that this robbery was a double blow to the college that had a problematic season.

“The college is just bouncing back from the swine flu closure and now this happens,” he said. “It’s an attack not just on the college but on the entire community.”
