The Scot whitewashed Peter Lines 5-0 in today's first round of the £450,000 British Open in Telford.

Doherty is one of three Dubliners through to the second round.

Fergal O'Brien eased through yesterday with a 5-1 win over Jon Birch while this morning Michael Judge set up a clash with Alan McManus by beating Nick Walker 5-2.
