Democratic Left has decided not to contest the forthcoming by election in the Dublin West constituency.

Democratic Left has decided not to contest the forthcoming by election in the Dublin West constituency.

In a statement, the general secretary, Mr John Gallagher, said there was a consensus to build up the party organisation in the constituency for the next general election.

Dublin, West is the base of Mr Tomas Mac Giolla, former president of the Workers' Party.
