Fiann Fail Deputy Ms Marian McGennis is leading a delegation to Sellafield this weekend to highlight safety concerns about the nuclear plant.
Ms McGennis said the Sellafield’s closeness to Irish shores represents a real danger and that the Government is serious about tackling that danger.
"Sellafield poses an unacceptable risk to the environment of this island. I want to bring home to the British public just how strongly we, in Ireland, feel about the existence of Sellafield," she said.
