The High Court has reserved judgment on a challenge by the State Solicitor for north Kildare, north Wicklow and south Dublin, Mr Charles E. Coonan, to a decision by the Attorney General not to continue his appointment beyond 65.

Mr Coonan claims he has a contract which indicates, subject to a certificate of good health, that he is entitled to a year-by-year extension of service until he is 70.
