Death squad kills 15 peasants

Bogota - A right-wing death squad massacred at least 15 peasants yesterday in a mountain village less than 60 km south-west of Bogota, authorities said. A police spokesman said a member of the paramilitary gang wearing a US-made camouflage army uniform was also killed when residents of La Orqueta, a hamlet near the town of Viota in Cundinamarca province, fought back against the attack.
