Beijing - A Chinese court has sentenced a woman to death and jailed three others for up to life in prison for running a prostitution racket, the official Xinhua news agency said last night. The Intermediate People's Court in Hangzhou city, capital of eastern Zhejiang province, condemned Wang Hongying (34) to death recently and sentenced her assistant to life in prison, Xinhua said.
Wang, the second person to be sentenced to death in China for prostitution, can appeal against her conviction.
