ISTANBUL - Hundreds of mourners yesterday demanded the conviction of Turkish policemen charged in the beating to death of a left wing journalist in a case seen as a test of Ankara's response to human rights pressure from the west.
Nearly 1,000 people marched to the graveside of reporter Metin Goktepe to mark the first anniversary of his death in police custody.
