DCC said today group earnings will be boosted this year by windfall gains on a deal completed by its building subsidiary.

The profit contribution from Manor Park Homebuilders will benefit from a "significant profit" on a deal completed last Friday, DCC said without giving further details.

"The value of DCC's investment in Manor Park has significantly increased over the past year. Manor Park has a large landbank for housing development and other projects in the pipeline from which it should earn substantial profits in the future," said DCC chief executive Jim Flavin.

However, DCC warned that planning issues have delayed the start of certain planned housing developments by Manor Park that will defer some profits to its next financial year.

Overall, the diversified energy and distribution group said it expects to report operating profit in line with market expectation.
