SANTA MONICA - The judge in the civil death lawsuit against American football star, O. J. Simpson, yesterday set a trial date of September 17th and ordered attorneys in the case to talk publicly about it. Lawyers for the plaintiffs and Mr Simpson said they had been ordered by Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki not to talk to the press.
Mr Simpson's lawyer, Mr Robert Baker, said he understood that the gag order would last for the duration of the trial. Other attorneys said they would not appeal against Judge Fujisaki's ruling.
Mr Simpson was found guilty last October of the June, 1994, murders of his former wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. He is being sued by the families of the victims.
