The Daily Mail, publisher of the Britain's second-biggest-selling newspaper, says it is laying off 100 people and is likely to post similar profits to last year's.
"We see profits coming in on similar levels to last year, which is a very satisfying performance," Mr Peter Williams said today.
Last year, the company posted full-year results showing a seven per cent fall to #177.5 million sterling in adjusted pre-tax profit for the 12 months to end-September, on turnover up six per cent to #1.96 billion.
