The Dáil Select Committee on Members’ Interests says it will again write to Independent Wexford TD Mick Wallace in relation to his tax affairs “seeking answers to all the questions asked of him by the committee last week”.

The committee, which has been requested to examine the issues raised by the TD’s admission that he knowingly made a false VAT declaration to the Revenue in respect of his construction company MJ Wallace Ltd, met again in private session yesterday morning.

In a statement yesterday, the committee said it had written to Mr Wallace last week but would be doing so again.

“Following receipt of certain information from Deputy Wallace, the committee is to write to Deputy Wallace again seeking answers to all the questions asked of him by the committee last week which sought to establish certain facts concerning the dates of various actions and that he authorise the Revenue Commissioners to correspond with the committee on the same matters.”
