Nicosia - British officials in Cyprus have dismissed suggestions that Britain failed to intervene earlier this week to secure the release of a British man on a ship seized by its mainly Syrian crew.
Mr James Wilkinson was safely escorted off the 16,500ton Blue Breeze in high seas off Cyprus by police at midnight on Tuesday. Its crew sailed the Panamanian-flagged ship on to Latakia, Syria.
