LONDON - The Sun newspaper has reported that a drunken customer left paralysed in a wheelchair after falling off a pub bar stool in Cookstown, Co Tyrone is suing the landlord for £100,000.

Mr William Joy (36) has been given legal aid to take an action against Mr John Newell claiming he was negligent for, letting him sit on the 3ft high bar stool.

Mr Joy had reportedly admitted drinking several pints of Guinness and shorts before he went into the pub. His father, also called William, said: "My, son had drunk a lot - no one is disputing that. "But the landlord was wrong to let him sit on a bar stool and, allow him to go to sleep."
