Two hospitalised after aggravated burglary in Finglas

Armed men tie up occupants of house, flee scene in dark coloured vehicle

Two men were hospitalised after a burglary at a house in Finglas, Dublin city, on Thursday night.

Gardaí are investigating the aggravated burglary, which took place at about 10.30 pm.

A Garda spokesman said two males entered the house on Heathfield Way armed with what were believed to be a shotgun and a knife.

The men assaulted and tied up the occupants of the house: two men and two women all aged in their 40s, as well as two children.

The assailants then left the house with a small amount of cash and drove away from the area in a dark coloured car.

The two male occupants of the house were taken to Blanchardstown hospital for treatment where their injuries were said not to be life threatening.
