Man arrested over assault of woman (70s) in Dublin 8

A man has been arrested by gardaí following an assault of a woman in her 70s in a home in Dublin 8 on Monday evening.

The man, who is also in his 70s, was arrested at the scene. Gardaí were called to the residential property on Ava Maria Road, Maryland, Dublin 8, a little after 7.30pm.

The woman was treated for her injuries at the scene. The man was taken to Kevin Street Garda station, where he is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A Garda spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
