The trial of Mr George Redmond, who is being investigated over a number of land rezoning decisions in the 1980s, has been set for June 4th.
The former assistant Dublin city and county manager is facing four charges of corruption in office under the Prevention of Corruption Acts, 1906 and 1916, and under the Public Bodies Corrupt Practices Act, 1889.
Two charges relate to the sale of a strip of land in Palmerstown by the council. It is alleged that, between December 1987 and March 1988, Mr Redmond received a gift of money as an inducement or reward in relation to the sale.
He is also accused of accepting money as an inducement for showing favour to an individual in relation to the transaction.
The other charges relate to the compulsory purchase by the council of 167 acres of land at Buzzardstown and Coolmine between June 1985 and June 1986.
Mr Redmond (76) attended the hearing at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court this morning and was remanded on continuing bail.
