A young man and woman were killed in a road crash in Co Carlow late last night.
The crash happened at Kilcarry, Clonegal, near Enniscorthy, at around 11pm. The male driver of the car and the female passenger died at the scene.
Gardaí said the man lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.
Their deaths bring to six the number of people killed in five crashes over the weekend, bringing the death toll on the Republic's roads this year to 215.
