Moving the wrong way:The year is not even a week old and commuters are already facing price hikes, with trains, buses and toll roads all more expensive.

The train fare from Dublin to Galway has gone up by €4, Dart tickets are up by as much as 25 cent, while using most toll plazas will cost motorists an extra 10 cent. Luas tickets will cost 5 per cent more for adults, while Dublin Bus has increased fares by 10 cent for an adult and 5 cent for a child. The National Consumer Agency has called all the price rises excessive.
