CLONMACNOISE, CO Offaly, is preparing for the annual National Catholic Youth 2000 Festival which gets uner way this weekend with up to 1,000 16- 35-year-olds expected to attend. The four-day festival will have workshops, talks, music and prayer.
One of the organisers, Aisling Cunnane, said peole would camp and there would also be residential marquees. The highlight of the weekend will be a concert by the band Elevation.
There will also be a healing and reconciliation event, and Mass daily.
