An estimated 30,000 clubbers will descend on Punchestown Racecourse, Co Kildare, today for Creamfields Ireland, the first outdoor music festival of the summer.

Dance culture icons Beck, Fatboy Slim and Outkast headline the event, organised in conjunction with Cream, the Liverpool nightclub that has become one of Europe's most lucrative entertainment franchises.

Eighty bands and DJs will perform on six stages from midday to 2 a.m.

The line-up juxtaposes international stars such as Paul Oakenfold and the Seb Fontaine with indigenous talent such as 2FM's Mark McCabe and Paul Power.

Promoters MCD said the some tickets would be available at the venue.
