Cigarettes valued at €20,000 and about €7,000 in cash were stolen in a raid on a service station in Co Offaly overnight.

Cigarettes valued at €20,000 and about €7,000 in cash were stolen in a raid on a service station in Co Offaly overnight.

Four men wearing balaclavas and armed with iron bars raided the Emo petrol station in Cloncollig, Tullamore, at around midnight.

They locked two staff members in a storeroom and escaped. There were no injuries reported.
