China supports the Northern Ireland peace process and believes it will make new progress in the coming days, Vice-Premier Qian Qichen has told a group of Irish TDS on a goodwill visit to Beijing, writes Conor O'Clery. His remarks were made at a meeting on Wednesday which included the Ceann Comhairle, Mr Seamus Pattison, and Deputies Mrs Nora Owen, Mr Tony Gregory, Mr Derek McDowell, Mr P.J. Sheehan, Mr Sean Power, Ms Mary Hanafin and Mr John McGuinness.
