Child killed in quad bike accident is named

The seven-year-old girl who died following a quad bike accident in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim yesterday has been named.

The seven-year-old girl who died following a quad bike accident in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim yesterday has been named.

She was Megan Linda Bennett, from the Woodburn area of Carrickfergus.

It is believed the girl crashed into a wall on the bike shortly after 4pm at Hawthorne Avenue.

She died later from her injuries in hospital.

The quad bike, which had been removed from the scene before PSNI officers arrived, has been recovered and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
