Well-known chef and restaurateur Conrad Gallagher has paid all outstanding wages to a former employee.
Mr Gallagher paid the sum of €1,467 by bank transfer to Rishi Mohiputlall from Mauritius yesterday. The money was earned by Mr Mohiputlall when he worked as a chef at Mr Gallagher’s restaurant Salon des Saveurs on Aungier Street, Dublin in June and July last year.
The Restaurant and Catering Workers Forum, established by Siptu and Migrant Rights Centre Ireland, called off a protest on Friday when Mr Gallagher agreed to pay what Mr Mohiputlall was owed. Mr Mohiputlall said: “I am very happy to finally have received the money I was owed.”
