Moscow - Eleven Russian soldiers were killed in Chechnya yesterday in one of the deadliest days of fighting in the separatist republic in weeks, Interfax reported quoting local officials.

Three servicemen were killed when Chechen guerrillas raided a Russian post. Two of the soldiers had their throats slit in the early morning raid, Interfax said. Another eight servicemen were killed hours later while trying to trace the rebels.
