A MAN is being treated in hospital for serious injuries after he was stabbed in the neck and stomach with a kitchen fork during a row at a house party.
The 28-year-old was found with a number of stab wounds after gardaí were called to a disturbance at an apartment on Castle Street in Carlow town shortly after 11.30pm on Wednesday.
The man was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.
He was then transferred to the intensive care unit at the hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Supt Pat Kavanagh of Carlow Garda station said, “the injured man was discovered when gardaí called to an apartment where a dispute had broken out among a number of men and women”.
“The scene has been preserved and inquiries are being carried out,” said Supt Kavanagh.
The man’s condition was described as stable yesterday.
