Phnom Penh - Cambodia's capital enjoyed its first calm day in more than three weeks yesterday as opposition supporters began to heed their leaders' pleas for restraint before top-level talks on the political crisis.

Small groups of opposition demonstrators gathered near the home of the opposition leader, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, and the US embassy in the morning but scattered when truckloads of riot police drove by.
