Belfast aerospace company, Shorts, will benefit from orders for 44 Canadair regional jets announced at the Farnborough air show. The orders, worth nearly £600 million, have been placed by three American airlines.

Shorts employs 1,800 people to work on the Canadair regional jet aircraft, for which the company makes the fuselage. The orders will also benefit 30 other British companies.
