ANKARA - A Turkish Islamist MP close to the Prime Minister, Mr Necmettin Erbakan, yesterday called for three parliamentary corruption investigations hanging over coalition ally, Ms Tansu Ciller, to be dropped on a legal technicality.

The Welfare Party MP, Mrs Mustafa Kamalak, said parliamentary commissions should be disbanded because a four month statute of limitations had elapsed.
