Provincial leaders ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Yesterday another 10 people were killed and 48 injured when a bus overturned and fell off a 105-meter (350-feet) slope in southwest China.
The accident occurred at noon as the bus, carrying 58 people, was traveling along a road near Yanjing town in Chongqing municipality, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The accidents took place as Chinese roads were flooded with people returning to work at the end of the week-long Lunar New Year holiday.
The transport ministry estimates 1.59 billion road trips will have been made by the end of the holiday.
