London - A parole board was deciding yesterday whether to release one of the killers of the Liverpool boy James Bulger, who was murdered in 1993.

Jon Venables, who at the age of 10 helped to abduct and kill two-year-old James Bulger, leaving his body on a railway line, could be free within days if the parole board rules it is safe to release him. His accomplice, Robert Thompson, who like Venables is now 18, has a parole board hearing tomorrow.
