A specialist construction firm, Delta Off-Site Solutions, of Macroom, Co Cork, confirmed yesterday that it is seeking an investor after a downturn in its market. It employs 180 people.
The company, which was established in 2002, manufactures bathroom and kitchen pods for the construction industry.
The pods are prefabricated units that can be placed fully "fitted-out" into an existing construction project.
Delta had a turnover in 2004 of €17 million. Earlier this month it laid off 80 employees, citing the delaying of projects from August until later in the year.
A spokesman confirmed last night that Delta is seeking an investor, but he denied that the company is closing.
