Britain's agriculture minister Mr Nick Brown has admitted the government is struggling to meet slaughter targets.

The number of slaughtered cow, sheep and pig carcasses awaiting disposal now topped 400,000.

Mr Brown says he is considering limited vaccination to combat the disease.

Mr Brown said although infected animals were being slaughtered within 24 hours of the disease being reported numbers meant they were finding it difficult to cull those on neighbouring farms in the required 48 hours.
