Paul Crawford, whose brother was shot by an unknown person yesterday, was brought before a special sitting of Limerick District Court last night where he was charged with making a threat to kill a woman in O'Malley Park yesterday morning.
Det Garda David Burke gave evidence of arresting Mr Crawford and he objected to bail, alleging that Mr Crawford was a leading member of the McCarthy-Dundon gang and if given bail, he would exact vengeance for the murder of his brother.
Judge Tom O'Donnell acknowledged that Mr Crawford would wish to attend his brother's funeral in the coming days but he remanded him in custody at Limerick Prison to appear again at Limerick District Court tomorrow.
