Ireland manager Seàn Boylan today named his 25-man International Rules squad ahead of this Saturday's opening Test against Australia at Pearse Stadium in Galway.
Boylan deliberated over naming his squad for the last couple of weeks but has now reduced his intial squad of 39 down to 33 after a training camp in France before finalising his sqaud today.
Armagh's Kieran McGeeney will captain the home side while Tadhg Kennelly (Sydney Swans) is McGeeney's vice captain.
Boylan also named the experienced trio of Tyrone's Stephen O'Nèill, Dessie Dolan (Westmeath) and Darragh O'Sè (Kerry) who will all be on standby for selection.
The Australian squad arrived in Ireland yesterday and are currently staying in Killarney where they will hold training sessions today and tomorrow. The game in Galway has sold out and already over 55,000 tickets have been allocated for the second test at Croke Park.
