A nine-year-old boy has been electrocuted in in Co Waterford.
A Garda spokesman said the child climbed over a fence surrounding an ESB transformer at Shandon Industrial Estate outside Dungarvan at about 11.20 a.m.He then fell onto the transformer and was electrocuted.
Emergency services tried but failed to revive him at the scene. He was pronounced dead shortly before midday. Gardaí have not yet named the boy.
