An eight-year-old boy was awarded £254,000 damages in a settlement approved by Mr Justice Brian McCracken in the High Court in Cork.
Colm McDonell, of Avonmore Park, Mayfield, Cork sued Catherine McCarthy from Henry Street, Cork, the driver of the car that struck him in Blarney on May 17th, 1992 when he was almost three years old. The boy, who sued through his father, John, suffered a fracture of the skull and other injuries.
