British detectives are today questioning a 16-year-old boy arrested under anti-terror laws.
The teenager was detained in Dewsbury, west Yorkshire, following the arrest of a man (21) at Manchester airport.
Police raided three homes in Bradford in connection with the Manchester airport operation at about midnight on Tuesday.
Yesterday afternoon the 16-year-old was arrested as further homes in Dewsbury were searched. The houses were owned by a local Muslim cleric.
The BBC quoted security sources as saying the Manchester airport arrest was linked to a Canadian inquiry into a terror plot there. A number of men were arrested in Canada last week and charged in connection with an "al-Qaeda inspired" plot in the Toronto area.
Canadian prosecutors have accused some of those suspected of plotting to storm parliament, take hostages and behead the prime minister unless Canada withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, a lawyer for one of the suspects said.
