Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a hit-and-run incident in Dublin left a boy in a serious condition in hospital last night.

The 10-year-old was struck by a silver car at the junction of St Eithne’s Road and Fassaugh Road, Cabra, Dublin, at about 5.30pm.

The car did not remain at the scene, gardaí said.

The boy was taken to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, where his condition was described as serious.

The scene was preserved by gardaí for technical examination.

Gardaí have asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01-666 8600.
