Swimming:British Swimming have turned to Michael Phelps' former coach Bob Bowman to help them find out what went wrong at the Olympics.
Bowman, who coached Phelps from 1996 to 2012, will join a London 2012 performance debrief panel to discover the reasons for the under-achievement of British swimmers at London, where their only success were Michael Jamieson’s silver medal and two bronzes for Rebecca Adlington.
Bowman, who has been part of the United States team for the last three Olympics and coached Phelps to a record 22 Olympic medals, will join panel members Conor O’Shea, Thomas Lurz, Craig Hunter and Michael Scott as British Swimming begin to look ahead to Rio in 2016.
David Sparkes, British Swimming’s chief executive, said: “Bob is a coach with a wealth of experience and a proven track record of turning talent and hard work into medal success. We are sure he will make a massive contribution to our review.”
