Banja Luka - The parliament of Bosnia's Serb Republic approved a new government yesterday but it was not clear whether the West would back it.

Sixty-one deputies in the 83-seat assembly voted for the new Prime Minister, Prof Mladen Ivanic, whose PDP party is in a four-party majority bloc led by the nationalist Serb Democratic Party (SDS), the biggest in parliament.
