BERLIN - Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the best known German clergyman executed for opposing Hitler, may soon be pardoned, according to legal sources.

The Protestant theologian is still listed under German law as guilty of high treason. But the sources, who asked not to be named, said that following an appeal "the verdict will probably be overturned this summer or autumn".
